While EcoMat is focusing primarily on denitrification, we have performed pilot tests, which confirm the ability to treat both perchlorate and cyanide. Perchlorate arises from rocket fuel manufacture and in recent years significant amounts have been detected in Nevada and California, with transport via the Colorado River.

Cyanide is used in "heap-leach" mining, a technology used in noble metal production.

Some testing has also shown that EcoMat's reactor and media can be used for nitrification.
